Would you like to be a Compassionate Neighbourhood Health Partners (CNHP) Volunteer?

Trained CNHP Society volunteers help to stimulate connections between seniors and their neighbours and enhance how neighbours help seniors with small acts of compassionate caring. CNHP volunteers also offer support to the older adult living with serious illness or frailty to help them access health and community resources.

What are the CNHP Volunteer Roles?
General Volunteers Assist With:
  • Administration (office and communications).
  • Fund-raising.
  • Marketing and Advertising.
  • Assisting with event planning.
Trained Program Volunteers:
  • Help clients formulate the questions they want to ask their health care provider.
  • Accompany clients and support clients at medical appointments.
  • Support clients at the time of discharge from emergency or the hospital.
  • Assist clients in action planning to carry out the health care instructions given to them.
  • Support clients in navigating the health care system.
  • Explore with clients the health care resources available in their community.
  • Help clients to prepare a record of their medical history to have ready to share with health care providers.
  • Mentor clients in the process of advance care planning.
What is required to become a CNHP Society Volunteer?
  1. Complete a volunteer application form (Once accepted as a volunteer, you will also be a member of the CNHP Society).
  2. Complete a criminal record check (at no cost to the volunteer).
  3. Endorse the CNHP Society Statement of Values, Beliefs and Code of Conduct.
  4. Complete the CNHP Oath of Confidentiality.
  5. Complete the interview process.
