Volunteering Opportunities with CNHPS

Join our Volunteer Team

CNHPS has many volunteering opportunities available. Would you enjoy:

 - Supporting seniors and their caregivers? 

 - Taking a supportive role in group events for older adults or for their caregivers? 

 - Being paired with a senior for weekly in-person or telephone chats?  

 - Becoming a trained Peer Facilitator for caregiver support groups, either in-person or on-line? 

 -Making posters for CNHPS. Do you have graphic designing skills?

 

There are volunteering opportunities for both adults, and youth from the age of 15 years.

Some Examples of Volunteering Opportunities with CNHPS

  1. Seniors Connect Café events: volunteer every Thursday morning from 9:30am to 12pm, with supportive roles for these in-person group events. It can be for ‘all’ Thursdays or for only one Thursday each month.

  2. Intergenerational events: volunteer each second and fourth Tuesday afternoon from 2:30pm to 5pm. Opportunities for both youth and adults

  3. Pairing with a senior for a weekly in-person or telephone conversation. Opportunities for both youth and adults.

  4. Family Caregiver Support Group meetings: Volunteer each Thursday afternoon from 1pm to 3:30pm: as a supportive person with the setup and takedown of the event and the serving of refreshments, or as a trained Peer Facilitator. To be a Peer Facilitator, experience as a past caregiver of an older adult is desirable. Training will be provided. 

  5. Neighbourly Connections: take the workshops to help you to make a difference in the lives of older adults and their caregivers in your networks or living in your neighbourhood.

  6. Graphic Design: Do you have a talent for graphic design and do you have some hours to volunteer in making some posters for CNHPS? 

  7. Participate in fundraising activities, administrative, or committee activities.

What is required to become a CNHPS Volunteer? 

​

  1. Complete a volunteer application form 

  2. Complete the interview process.

  3. Complete a criminal record check (at no cost to the volunteer).

  4. Endorse the CNHPS Core Values, Policies and Procedures.

  5. Complete the CNHPS Oath of Confidentiality and Disclaimer form.

  6. Take the required orientation and training sessions.
